Moto2-RACE AT RICARDO TORMO CIRCUIT, VALENCIA
Great comeback for Corsi and Fernandez at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana
Simone Corsi and Augusto Fernandez bring the Speed Up bikes to points in the Valencia Motul Grand Prix, which closed the 2016 World Championship. The challenge in today’s race started off after the difficult qualifying session of yesterday in which Simone Corsi placed nineteenth as he did not solve the chattering problems of the weekend in the warm-up. Teammate Fernandez started twenty-fisrt but with a good feeling. Despite the disadvantaged grid positions, both riders managed to climb up positions lap after lap. Both determined to reach the points zone, continued to climb until the last lap and finished the race respectively in ninth and fourteenth.
Simone Corsi is ninth in the overall standings of the Moto2 World Championship 2017.
SIMONE CORSI#24 – 9th
“I’m happy with today’s result. This morning I was scared because getting to points seemed was really difficult. The problems with the bike setting were the same as in the weekend, but I tried to push more than I could for the whole race. It was not a year of great satisfactions as we expected, but I really want to thank all the guys in the team and especially Luca Boscoscuro who believed in me in these two seasons!”
AUGUSTO FERNANDEZ#37 – 11th
“I’m happy with my first experience in the Moto2 World Championship. We went on growing and in the end we managed to reach the goal we had set at first: the points zone! I want to thank Speed Up staff for the all the support and the hard work done in these races, it was an amazing experience!”

Moto2-QUALIFYING AT THE CIRCUIT RICARDO TORMO DE VALENCIA
Seventh row for the Speed Up riders in the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana
The SF7 Speed Up bikes will start tomorrow from the seventh row in the Valencia Grand Prix that close the curtain on the 2017 Moto2 season.
The last free practice of the morning was dedicated by Speed Up riders, Simone Corsi and Augusto Fernandez, to improve bikes setup. In the qualifying session, decisive for tomorrow’s grid definition, Fernandez crashes at start and then struggles to find the feeling he has achieved in the free sessions. However, he manages to improve his lap time that brings him to the 21st position. Corsi could not solve chattering problems finishing 19th in qualifying, but he trusts his team to find the solution in tomorrow’s warm up.
SIMONE CORSI#24 – 19th
“Tomorrow we will start from a very difficult grid position. We’ve improved the lap time from the free practices, but the position reached is not what we hoped for. We were unable to solve the chattering problems we had in the turns. In tomorrow’s warm up we will make the latest changes to the bike. We are working hard to fix the setting. We are still determined to make a good race and grab as many positions as possible!”
AUGUSTO FERNANDEZ#47 – 21st
“I’m sorry for the position we got today because we completed 3 free practice sessions with good results. After the crash in qualifying, we lost the rhythm we had achieved. With the new set up of the bike we were unable to improve the time after the crash. We could do more, but we are still determined to make a good race to close this first experience in the Moto2 World Championship.

Moto2- FREE PARACTICES AT GRAN PREMIO MOTUL DE LA COMUNITAT VALENCIANA
Corsi and Fernandez hard at work preparing for the last race of 2017 season
The first day of free practice sessions of the last race of the Moto2 season at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste, Valencia, has just ended.
Corsi and Fernandez used the first two free practice sessions to size up a track that is always complicated to interpret with its many slow and short radius corners. The Speed Up riders therefore focused on the bike setting in preparation for the race, finishing the day in the 13th (Fernandez, 1’36.44) and 15th (Corsi, 1’36.595) place.
SIMONE CORSI#24 – 15°
“Today was a difficult first day, I really did not have much feeling with the bike. We tried two different set-up solutions during the two sessions, but neither of them was good enough. There is still FP3 session to improve the bike and thus achieve a good starting grid position. “
AUGUSTO FERNANDEZ#37 – 13°
“I’m happy with today because we’re working fine. We managed to get the fastest lap in FP1 reaching today’s thirteenth place, but in the second free practice we focused on the race pace, improving the grip and rhythm. We have to be focused to continue in this direction, we can do a good race!”
