Difficult race at the Cathedral of Speed for Beta Tools Speed Up team riders.

Di Giannantonio crossed the finish line eleventh after 24 laps ridden at the limit. A positive weekend for the number 21 of the team with some problems solved and confidence gained in the Speed Up guide. In the race Fabio did his best, finishing once again in the points although some vibration problems at the front of the bike put him to the test.

Unfortunately, Jorge Navarro couldn’t finish the race at the legendary TT Circuit Assen. At the end of the eleventh lap the Spaniard crashed in the last chicane finishing his TT Assen early. A complicated weekend from which learn to come back stronger than before.

Moto2 does not stop and moves to Germany for the ninth round of the World Championship, 5-6-7 July at the Sachsenring.

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO#21 – 11th “A result that we did not expect after a tough weekend in which we had the pace to stay ahead. In the race, however, we had problems that slowed us down and prevented us from riding as we know. The vibration at the front has greatly complicated my driving, especially when braking. The more laps passed, the more the fuel dropped and the difficulty in riding increased. The eleventh place today is not even deserved because with the pace we had we could do worse. We will understand what happened in the race and we will work as always to improve. See you at the Sachsenring”.
“It was not the easiest weekend for us. On a personal level I have made too many mistakes in this grand prix, and nothing, I apologize to the team and learn from my mistakes. We need to focus on the positive things of this weekend and continue to work as hard as we are doing without distractions. I’m sorry because I lost too many positions at the start of the race and then when I found my rhythm, I forced too much riding to the limit. I then made that mistake to the last chicane that cost me the race and the points for the classification. We just have to learn from the mistakes we made and start stronger than before! Germany here we are!”

Beta Tools Speed Up team closed the Dutch TT qualifying with the sixth and seventh place taking the second and third row of the starting grid of the TT Circuit Assen.

Di Giannantonio and his crew solved Friday’s problems during the last morning free practice session and gained direct access to Q2. In the fifteen minutes available, Fabio further improved his time and with the chrono of 1’36.979 sealed the second row of the grid.

A difficult day but with a positive outcome that of Jorge Navarro that due to a crash at the beginning of Fp3 could not get back on track due to the considerable damages to the bike. Outside the top 14, Jorge faced Q1 and with determination took access to Q2. The traffic on track and some more vibrations prevented Jorge from finding a good fast lap but the Spaniard feels ready to fight already from the third row in tomorrow’s race.

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO#21 – 6th in 1’36.979
“Today really good, much better than yesterday. This morning we started much stronger than yesterday, even with used tyres. We did not use the new tyres as we should have, there were improvements but we could have done more. In the afternoon we took a big step forward. We went under 37 taking the second row. Tomorrow it will be a tough race because there are many of us who have a good pace, but we can fight with the leaders”.
JORGE NAVARRO#9 – 7th in 1’37.076
“It was not a simple day. This morning I crashed after a few laps from the beginning of the Fp3 and the feeling with the bike was not good. With the team we decided some changes to make to the setting before the Q1 thanks to which we were able to improve some points, but not the vibration. In Q2 I couldn’t find the fastest lap, but I’m happy because in the end we managed to take the seventh position in a complicated situation. I believe tomorrow we will fight as usual with the leading group!”

The first day of free practice session for the Dutch Grand Prix, round 8 of the Moto2 World Championship to be held this weekend at the historic TT Assen circuit has just ended.

After the first two free practice sessions on the Dutch track, Jorge Navarro took the fifth time of the day in 1’37.687 at only +0.289 tenths from the first. The number 9 of the Beta Tools Speed Up team had closed the 40 minutes of Fp1 in seventh position then improving his lap time in the afternoon session proving once again to be competitive on its Speed Up bike.

His team-mate Fabio Di Giannantonio started Friday at the TT Assen circuit with the ninth fastest time in the first free practice in 1’38.337. The good feeling at the start of the day was interrupted by vibrations at the front that prevented the rider and team from continuing the excellent work done in the FP1, closing the first day eighteenth.

JORGE NAVARRO#9 – 5th in 1’37.687
“Positive as first day, this morning we started immediately with a good feeling with the bike. In Fp2 we did some changes to understand the direction to take in tomorrow’s sessions. We know the way to take to continue the excellent work done so far. This evening we will focus on some details to well end the free practice sessions with tomorrow’s Fp3 and be competitive in qualifying. The race pace we will try tomorrow will be very important and we will do our best to take the direct access to Q2 and fight for the top positions of the grid!”
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO#21 – 18th in 1’38.106
“This morning we started well, I didn’t expect to be so fast in the first practice. In the afternoon, however, something has changed, strong vibrations in the front complicated the driving of the Speed Up and we have not yet been able to figure out how to solve this problem. Now we just have to study the data collected in the two sessions and find a solution for tomorrow. I feel that there is a large margin for improvements and that we can be even more competitive. Tomorrow we will do our best to get into Q2”.
