The long-awaited moment of 2019 has finally arrived: it is time to warm the engines up!
The Speed Up Racing team will kick off the 2019 season from the Jerez de la Frontera circuit with a two-day private test. Jorge Navarro and Fabio Di Giannantonio, eager to start over, are ready to test themselves after a long winter break spent training hard. The team will be engaged in three pre-season tests, two of them official (Jerez 11/12 February; Jerez 20-21-22 February; Doha, Qatar 1/2/3 March) in view of the first Grand Prix of the Moto2 Championship 2019 , which traditionally will take place on Sunday, March 10 at the Losail circuit, Qatar.
Luca Boscoscuro#TeamOwner: “Tomorrow we will finally bring the new Speed Up SF19T bike on track. We are satisfied with the work done in the last few months and we can’t wait to start the season with Fabio and Jorge. The pre-season tests will be fundamental for the development of the Speed Up-Triumph project. We need to know more about the new engine and understand how far we can go. It will not be an easy championship, but we have all the cards to compete with the best”.
Jorge Navarro#9: “It was a very long winter in which I trained hard to maintain and improve my physical and mental fitness. I’m ready to start again and above all I cannot wait to get back on track to measure myself with the other riders and see where we can get there. As soon as we finish the pre-season tests we will understand what we are aiming for the championship”.
Fabio Di Giannantonio#21:“I’m very happy for this start of the season! I have not touched a bike on the track for three months, so I really want to touch knees and elbows on the ground! New team, new category, new bike, bigger and more powerful, a new and exciting challenge that gives me the charge to better face this new season. I start with my feet on the ground, the first goal I set myself is the points zone and towards the end of the season I hope I can fight for the podium!”
