Moto2- BETA TOOLS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: GRAND PRIX OF QATAR RACE
DANNY KENT AND FABIO QUARTARARO OUT OF POINTS BUT SATISFIED WITH PROGRESS IN QATAR
Beta Tools-Speed Up Racing Team riders finished the Grand Prix race of Qatar in seventeenth (Danny Kent #52) and twentieth (Fabio Quartararo#20) position.
Both riders have been suffering from grip issues since the beginning of the race which forced them to drive definitely below their capacity. Despite the final results, the balance is still positive thanks to the progress achieved by both riders over the weekend. The feeling with the Speed Up SF18 is much improved in this first race and Danny Kent and Fabio Quartararo are ready to continue the results achieved so far to be more competitive in the next Grand Prix of Argentina.
DANNY KENT#52 – 17th
“I am very disappointed with the results of today race. Unfortunately, just like the first exit of qualifying, we had a bad tyre with zero grip. I am not happy because at the end of qualifying with a good tyre I had a great feeling with the bike so of course I was motivated and confident for a good result, but I knew already from the first lap my grip was very bad and I had too much spin. Sorry to my team, but I am afraid it’s something that is out of mine and the team’s control. I will go home and work very hard to come back to Argentina strong!”
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 20th
“It was a very difficult weekend because we had problems during all the sessions. We need to improve the aerodynamics of the bike and continue to work ahead of the next race in Argentina”.

Moto2- BETA TOOLS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM
A STUNNING RIDE BY KENT CLOSES THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE GRAND PRIX OF QATAR IN THE SECOND ROW. QUARTARARO WILL START FROM THE FIRST POSITION OF THE SIXTH ROW.
Beta Tools-Speed Up Racing Team riders Danny Kent and Fabio Quartararo are confident they can race to positive results in tomorrow’s season opening Moto2 race under the Losail International Circuit floodlights in Qatar.
Kent and Quartararo encountered lack of rear grip on a frustrating FP3, with both unable to show their full potential in a difficult and very hot session.
In the afternoon qualifying, the British rider managed to improve the bike setting with his crew scoring the sixth position and he was able to dramatically improve his lap time during the session stopping the chrono at 2’00.965.
On the other side of the box, the young Quartararo was able to increase the feeling with his Speed Up SF18 bike and improve his lap time as well in almost a second. Tomorrow he will start the first race of the season from the sixteenth position.
DANNY KENT#52 – 6th in 2’00.965
“I am happy with qualifying in p6 but also little bit frustrated because the first exit we had a bad rear tyre which wasn’t able to go fast with, either way I’am happy and feeling very confident for tomorrow’s race. I have a great feeling with the bike so a big thank you to my group and the team. We will push 110% tomorrow for a good result!”
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 16th in 2’01.404
“We took a step forward during the QP thanks to some changes in the bike set-up, but we need to improve the race pace. I regret not being able to score a better lap time, but tomorrow I will do my best to immediately recover some position and then be able to fight for the top ten”.

Moto2- BETA TOOLS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: FIRST FREE PRACTICE SESSIONS OF THE 2018 SEASON AT LOSAIL CIRCUIT
Kent and Quartararo hard at work preparing for the first race of the championship
The Moto2 World Championship has finally started today at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. Speed Up staff is very excited for the new season that this year will touch 19 circuits in 16 countries all over the world.
Today, riders and teams had to deal with two different atmospheric situations: in the first free practice session the temperature was very high, over thirty degrees; FP2 instead went on stage when the sun was already down, so in night mode and with a milder temperature.
Danny Kent and Fabio Quartararo focused on the bike setting working towards the race both improving their lap time during the second session.
DANNY KENT#52 – 14th in 2’01.689
“Honestly, I am disappointed in myself today especially in the FP2 because I had a great feeling with the bike and the potential of the bike was much better than p14. I kept making too many silly mistakes but tomottow will be a better day, I am sure!”
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 21st in 2’02.267
“Today was a difficult first day. We tried different set-ups and made several changes to the bike. I have difficulty braking, but we know where to work to improve the feeling and the setting of the bike during the third free practice session of tomorrow “.
