MOTO2 – SPEED UP CHALLENGES ANDALUSIAN RAIN IN THE LAST TEST BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The final 3 days of Official Test before the kick-off have just come to a close on the Spanish circuit of Jerez de la Frontera. Unfortunately, the rain did not give any respite, hindering the work of the team and the riders in view of the first race of the Moto2 World Championship to be held next week, as usual at the Losail circuit in Qatar. Only four dry sessions out of nine in which Danny Kent and Fabio Quartararo were able to continue the work begun in the previous winter tests by making changes and trying different set-up both on dry and wet track. There were comforting feedback from both riders who confirmed the improvement and the good feeling with the Speed Up bikes SF18.
Danny Kent#52: “Unfortunately we was very unlucky with the weather, which is not what we wanted because we needed as much time on the track for me and the team to find the right direction to Qatar. We was able to do four dry sessions due to bad weather but anyway I think me and the team did a great job in such short time. We know where we have to improve and I feel confident that we can do well!”
Fabio Quartararo#20: “It was a positive test although the rain complicated the situation and distorted the plans a bit. We definitely took a step forward in the race, but we’re not 100% yet. Next week we arrive in Qatar with work to do and settings to be improved, but positive and determined for the new season!”.
