JORGE NAVARRO#9 – 7th
“It was a very complicated race, the most difficult so far for me. I started quite well and for the first few laps I managed to stay with the leading group. Then I gradually realized that the feeling was changing, I suffered especially from the fourth sector, in the last corner and in the straight when I accelerated I didn’t have the same pace as the others. Then, due to a mistake, I lost the position I was in, I tried to recover but the tyres towards the end of the race had by now lost grip. I am sorry because I was hoping for a better result but we must remain positive, today we gave our best by learning a lot and bringing points at home. In Catalunya we will keep working as we are doing!”
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO#21 – 10th “Delighted for this home Grand Prix! We were unlucky at the start otherwise we could have done much better. In any case, we have finally made a proper race, with a great step recovering 21 positions. One of the toughest races of my life. We have been good, I am really happy and I want to thank the team for the work we are doing, we must continue like this! “
SECOND AND FIFTH ROW FOR THE MB CONVEYORS SPEED UP TEAM IN THE ITALIAN QUALIFYING SESSION
At the Mugello International Circuit the MB Conveyors Speed Up team finished the qualifying session for the Grand Prix of Italy with Jorge Navarro’s fifth time and Fabio Di Giannantonio’s fourteenth. In the third morning free practice session both riders improved their Speed Up SF19T settings taking the sixth (Navarro in 1’51.856) and tenth (Di Giannantonio in 1’52.151) positions obtaining direct access to Q2. Excellent work by both teams, who with the data collected in Fp3 prepared to face the qualifying under the scorching sun of Mugello. Navarro, after a few laps on the track, returns for the tyre change five minutes before the end of the session and with determination found the fastest lap and took the second row of the starting grid. The number 21 of the team used FP3 to test the race pace and in addition to lowering the chrono, he demonstrated to be competitive in qualifying. Unfortunately, during his fastest lap of the session, Fabio was stopped by traffic on track and so he ended the session by taking the fifth row confident for tomorrow’s race.

“Today was a positive day. This morning we had a good free practice session and with the final time we managed to rate ourselves directly for Q2. Initially in qualifying we could not find the fastest lap, then I stopped and changed the tyres. The feeling improved but the time was not much but we still managed to take fifth and second row. I think it’s a good position for the race, we still have some details to see, but we’ll fix everything for tomorrow”.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO#21 – 10th in 1’51.920 “I’m not happy with today’s qualifying. After the improvements this morning I expected to do much better in qualifying and instead I couldn’t find the fastest lap during the fifteen minutes on the track. I found too much traffic throughout the session. We will start back, but determined to recover from the first laps. Grit, head and heart are the keywords for tomorrow’s race”.

“A positive first day! We tried several changes to understand which way to go and we have been able to understand a lot of things that we will need in the coming days. The pace was very good, maybe we missed an even faster lap, but we have time to improve tomorrow. We will use the last free practice session tomorrow morning and we will certainly try to get some good qualifying to start ahead. We are competitive and confident for Sunday’s race“.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO#21 – 10th in 1’52.617 “This morning we started very well, the feeling was great and we managed to get strong immediately. In the afternoon we tried the hardest front tyre and even though it didn’t give me good sensations we still managed to do very well. It’s a grand prix that I really like, the home race is always more exciting than the others, especially for the people and because I like the circuit very much. Now let’s just think about improving and doing good qualifying session”.
