MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM IN THE POINTS AGAIN WITH FABIO QUARTARARO. DANNY KENT CRASHES OUT IN THE TENTH LAP
The MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING team finished in the points at the Grand Prix of Italy with Fabio Quartararo who closed a positive weekend, finishing eleventh and earning five more championship points.
Danny Kent’s race, on the other hand, did not last long. The Brit, who seemed to have found the right feeling in the sessions of the previous days, did not finish his race due to a crash at Turn 1 of the tenth lap when, after a good start, he tried to recover positions.
Next stop of the Moto2 World Championship is the Grand Prix of Catalunya, Montmeló, Barcelona, on June 17.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 11th
“It was a difficult race. The track temperature was very high and that’s why the front chattering was inevitable. I managed to recover a few positions right away, but at a certain point a rider in front of me crashed and it was at that moment that I lost precious seconds, detaching myself from the front group. In any case, I am satisfied with the race pace and determined to continue working as we have done so far!”
DANNY KENT#52 – not classified
“Disappointed with the final result today because our potential this weekend was much better, unfortunately in the race we had some problems with the bike that we can see clearly on the data, problems that we didn’t have all weekend. Tomorrow we have a test so we will continue working to try and improve. Sorry to my team and thanks for everything!”

QUALIFYING: FIFTH AND SIXTH ROW FOR THE MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM’S RIDERS
MB Conveyors-Speed Up Racing Team’s riders finished the qualifying session on the Italian Saturday in the fifth and sixth row. Danny Kent placed fifteenth and Fabio Quartararo the sixteenth. In the third free practice session in the morning both riders improved the settings of their Speed Up SF18 grabbing the ninth (Kent in 1’52.599) and eleventh (Quartararo in 1’52.670) position. Kent, after having analysed the data of the two sessions of the previous day with his crew, managed to find a solution to the problems with the front and improve the fast lap. The box mate, Fabio Quartararo, spent the FP3 testing the race pace and in addition to lower the crono, demostrated to be competitive in qualifying. During the last lap of the QP, the fastest of the session, he was stopped by traffic on the track.
DANNY KENT#52 – 15th in 1’52.245
“Finally, in the qualifying I am not happy with the position because this is not where we want to be, but the positive is that I have a better feeling with the bike, and also the lap times are very close, 0,2 and we are inside the top 8. We will continue working to have a good race tomorrow!”
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 16th in 1’52.318
“We had a very good qualifying session, but the result does not respect our work. Unfortunately, during the fast lap where we could reach the second row, a rider on the track did not allow me to finish it. We lost the best position but we are determined to fight in tomorrow’s race!”

MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: QUARTARARO AND KENT AT WORK IN THE FIRST DAY OF THE GRAND PRIX OF ITALY
The Tuscan circuit, one of the most loved in the world, is a top shelf test for the Speed Up Italian bike thanks to the extreme variety and technical layout. The first day of free practice at Mugello, ahead of next Sunday’s GP, provided encouraging information to both the riders of the MB Conveyors-Speed Up Racing team. The young Quartararo finished the day in tenth position, improving the time obtained in FP1 in the morning. The change of tires, from hard to soft, and the increase of laps on the track have made a better feeling allowing Fabio to get only 5 tenths from the first in the standings.
Box-mate Danny Kent finished the day in twenty-first position. Some problems at the front limited him in both the free practice sessions but he is determined to find a solution together with his technical staff to improve the feeling before tomorrow’s qualifying.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 10th in 1’52.642
“In the first session we worked with hard rubber to be able to have 2 soft tires in the second and we saw the notable difference: with the soft tire we started working well and improving the pace by lowering the time trial of 1,346. I have a good feeling. I want to be in the first 3 rows tomorrow!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 21st in 1’53.435
“Difficult first day here in Mugello, in the morning it wasn’t too bad but in the afternoon I have no feeling with the front, the bike doesn’t turn and then it closes on me. We will look at the data, see what we can do with the bike, and I will also compare my data to other riders to see what I can do myself to improve.
