UNLUCKY RACE FOR LOWES AND TEAM SPEED UP ON THE GRAN PREMIO bwin DE ESPANA

The first European race of the season of the Moto2 class has just ended at Jerez de la Frontera. The day started in the best way: the heat of last days had spared the riders and the track conditions were ideal, the warm up had closed in a positive way for Sam Lowes, with a significant pace and a third position,  and the feeling with the bike was good, but unfortunately a faulty tire frustrated the work of the entire weekend. Immediately after the start the British rider began to lose positions because of the lack of grip that made the bike really difficult to ride, despite the problem with the rear tyre Sam decided to complete the laps and finished the race in twentieth position. The next round of the season will be at Le Mans in two weeks and Sam Lowes and Team Speed Up are prepared and want to forget this this unlucky race.

SAM LOWES – 20th

“The Team worked mega all week end, we are consistent and fast now in all conditions, unfortunately  we had no luck with the tyre, we had no grip at all, I am really upset cause I could have made a good race, I can’t wait to go to Le Mans”

SAM LOWES – 7th- 1’43.932
“Today was not too bad cause overall we ended up in second position andin the afternoon session we were p7 in the hot. We tried many things with the bike, some good, some less good but it’s the first time we ride in really hot conditions, so we have to try cause we have many new things in the bike this year. We tried everything but used old tyres and even the feeling was not perfect if we look at the time is not bad so I’m quite confident and Ithink we can make a good step tomorrow. The important thing is to make a good qualifying in the hot temperature. The race is at twelve o’ clock so It will not be so hot, will be hot but not like in qualifying. We have to work hardin FP3, make a good job in qualifying and I am confident already for the race”.
