NINE POINTS FOR CORSI AT THE MOTUL TT ASSEN
SIMONE CORSI #24 7°
“At the end of this hard weekend we can be satisfied with the result. The grid position did not help us, I think that with a better grid position we could have fight for the podium. I missed some overtaking during the first laps so I lost the possibility to reach the top riders. With the team we did very well solving the problems had in the warm up. Now we have 2 weeks before next race in Germany. I cannot wait for Sachsenring circuit, I feel good with that track!”
QUALIFYING PRACTICE OF THE GP MOTUL TT ASSEN: SIXTH ROW FOR CORSI
The Moto2 qualifyng practice at Gp Motul TT Assen has just ended. The rider couldn’t carry no more than 8 laps, because the official tests were marked by rain. Tomorrow he will start from 16th positions. When Simone Corsi was going to take feeling with the dry track, he had to return to the box for bad weather conditions. In that moment the wet tires were obligatory but the laps times of the first riders were too far away. Then the team considered unnecessary to put rain tires because they couldn’t improve the lap time done with the dry track. Hoping that tomorrow’s weather will be better, team and rider will make their best to be more competitive.
“Today was a little strange day because weather conditions have changed during the qualifyng session. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity to score a good lap time when the track was still almost dry. Then, when it started to rain, it was impossible for me to take a better lap time because of the rain. Tomorrow morning will be very important to find the right setup in the warm up to make a good start. We are all sure we can do a good race”.
FRIDAY FREE PRACTICE SESSIONS OF GP MOTUL TT ASSEN
The first day of the Gp Motul TT Assen weekend has just ended. Simone Corsi has clocked his best time of the day in 1 ‘38.760 ranking in 11th place. The rider has finished the first day of practice at 7 tenths from the first. He has struggled during all the practice to improve the pace, but Assen circuit is one of the most difficult of the season due to the highest average speeds of the championship. It will be very important to improve the feeling with the bike SF16 to allow Simone to be ready for the last test of tomorrow and for the qualifying.
“Compared to this morning the feeling with the bike has improved but we are still payng a gap of 7 tenths from the first. We have to keep working with the grip to improve and close the gap from the first, especially the times in T3 and T4 sectors where we are losing more time. The team is working well and we are all confident about the latest practice of tomorrow”.
