COLLIN VEIJER ON THE SECOND STEP OF THE MUGELLO’S PODIUM
The fifth round of the Moto3 Italian Speed Championship took place last weekend at the Mugello International Circuit.
Collin Veijer, following his eighth position in qualifying, started well in Race1, recovering positions and taking the lead of the race, when, due to a big accident on track, the red flag anticipated the end by defining the final classification. The young Dutchman finished Race1 with the second place.
In Race2 Collin, after a promising start, was forced to stop due to an engine problem.
Veijer and his team greet Mugello aware that they have given their best and satisfied with the work they have done.
The number 95 and his team will be back on track for the last round of the Italian Speed Championship from 4th to 6th October at the Vallelunga circuit.
Collin Veijer #95:“After the hard work of my team we were able to find a good adjustment for the race. In Race1, I made a good start pushing hard as much as I could until I took over the first position. Unfortunately, the race ended with a red flag because of a bad accident. Despite this, we finished the race with the second place. In Race2 my start was perfect and could reach p4 after the first corner. There was a lot of gravel on the track due to an oil trail and this caused a large cloud of dust. I could not continue to drive with blinking eyes losing many positions. When I started to see again, I had to stop because of a technical problem. I want to thank my team for their efforts, ready for the final round in Vallelunga”.
