+EGO-SPEED UP RACING TEAM’S RIDERS BOTH IN THE POINTS IN THE AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX
Today’s race at the RedBull Ring had a bitter sweet taste for the number 20 of the +EGO-Speed Up Racing Team. Unfortunately, a mistake at the first corner of the first lap, just after the start, made useless the first hard-earned row reached during yesterday’s qualifying. He finished the first lap in twenty-second position and from there began his incredible climb finishing the race in ninth position.
Good performance of Danny Kent who started well recovering three positions at the start. Throughout the race, the British rider was able to recover two more positions and then he maintained a steady pace closing the Austrian Grand Prix in twelfth position.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 9th
“It was a difficult race because after the contact at the first corner I finished in twenty-fifth position and from there I had to give 100% to recover as many positions as possible. Too bad because we could have fought for the first 5 positions. I’m still happy with the ninth place reached, I thank my team for always being by my side!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 12th
“I am happy with the race I made today. I had a few problems on 2 corners which is where I lost most of my time compared to the others, but anyway I was able to make consistent laps and finish in the points. I hope to continue in this way at home Grand Prix in Silverstone, thanks to my team!”

+EGO-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: QUALIFYING
FIRST ROW START FOR FABIO QUARTARARO AT AUSTRIAN GP
After the light rain in the morning that never stopped from yesterday’s FP2, the afternoon sun has instead guaranteed dry qualifyingn for the Moto2 riders here at the Red Bull Ring.
The +EGO-Speed Up Racing Team will start tomorrow from the front row with Fabio Quartararo who got the third best time in 1’29.930 and the sixth with Danny Kent who qualified seventeenth.
The young Quartararo, thanks to his constant dedication and work with the team, was able to find the right setting for dry qualifying after two free practice sessions carried out in the wet.
Box teammate, Danny Kent, missed the fastest lap but reduced his lap time by almost a second and improved the feeling with his Speed Up SF18 bike in both track conditions.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 3rd in 1’29.930
“It was a pretty positive day. This morning with the wet track and the light rain we were sixth, and today with totally dry track third. We had a small electronic problem at the end of the qualifying, the bike turned off at 2 laps from the end. Anyway, we were able to find the fast lap and we are confident in the race pace we have. We will fight to get the top 5 tomorrow!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 17th in 1’30.401
“I am not overly happy with my starting grid, but anyway I have a good feeling with the bike. I did a lot of laps so I could understand the bike a bit more. Important to get a good start tomorrow and I will be pushing 110% to have a good result!”.

+EGO-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: PRACTICE
THE SPEED UP SF18 BIKE IN FIFTH POSITION WITH FABIO QUARTARARO
The Austrian weekend started today on the Red Bull Ring and, as expected, the rain arrived in the afternoon forcing teams and riders to completely change the settings of the bikes tested in the morning FP1.
Quartararo reached the fifth position during the dry session of the morning. He was not only able to score an excellent time, he also shew a constant and competitive race pace. In the afternoon the FP2 were characterized by a very strong rain which significantly changed the riding conditions of the riders. The number 20 of the +EGO-Speed Up Racing Team managed to find the right feeling with his team also in the wet.
Danny Kent had some chatter during the first session, and although in the standings it turned out to be nineteenth, the gap from the first one is only 0.6 tenths. The second session were scheduled to solve the morning’s chatter, but the rain forced rider and team to change programs.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 5th in 1’30.568
“I am very happy with the work done in these two sessions. In FP1 we worked well with the soft tyre, we are less than two tenths from the first. We also reached a good feeling in the wet in the second free practice session. The rain fell at times very strong, reducing visibility on the track. I am satisfied for now, we must continue like this tomorrow!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 19th in 1’31.080
“Not a great day today. In FP1 I had some chatter in some corners but we have looked at the data and we know the problem. Unfortunately, for FP2 it was raining so we weren’t able to see if we had fixed the problem. Tomorrow is a different day and we have to wait and see what the weather will be”.
