CORSI SEVENTH AT MICHELIN AUSTRALIA MOTORCYCLE GRAND PRIX
At Phillip Island circuit after two days of uncertain sky and lower temperature than normal, Moto2 riders started the race on a dry track but with a strong wind. Simone Corsi, who was thirteenth on grid, promptly grabbed some positions in the first lap moving up to eighth. He finished the race seventh thus confirming the tenth place in the World Championship Rankings. The last leg of the overseas trip will be next week at Motegi circuit in Malaysia.

FIFTH ROW FOR SIMONE CORSI IN THIRTEENTH POSITION
Speed Up rider Simone Corsi started well the second day of the Australian GP at Phillip Island circuit taking a good sixth lap time of 1’39.369 in the last free practice session. Cold and wind influenced the track conditions in both sessions of the day. Simone started the qualifying session in good shape taking good lap times and improving the race pace. He got the first position after seven laps in 1’34.659. Unfortunately, after he crashed, he was forced to remain at the box until the end of the session because the bike was too damaged to back on track again. He could just staring his grid position sliding down to the thirteenth.

“I am very sorry for today’s crash which compromise the qualifying. We could have reached a good grid position. The warm up will be useful for testing the bike after the crash. It will be an uphill battle, but I feel we can do it!
PHILLIP ISLAND MOTO2, HEAVY RAIN ENDS FIRST DAY OF FREE PRACTICES EARLY
At the Australian Grand Prix, the race direction had to cancelled the second free practice session due to incessant bad weather. In the first session Simone Corsi and Speed Up team could run few laps because of dangerous track conditions. In tomorrow’s last session team and rider will test the bike setting and find the best setup for the qualifying session. The third free practice session has been moved up to 11.10 am (2:10 am Italian time).

“We did not ride a lot today, it was very cold with heavy rain. It was difficult to find grip and too easy to crash. Now we have to wait and see if weather condition will improve although the forecast are similar to today”.
