Many thanks to the sponsors who make this possible for me”.

An ultra-modern facility, MotorLand Aragón had its roots firmly established thanks to a solid history of street racing in Alcañiz, which hosted events between 1963 and 2003. Safety advice warning against the continuation of this led to the proposal and construction of a sporting complex dedicated to motorsport.

With support from local institutions, renowned German architect Hermann Tilke was commissioned to design the facility. The circuit, which is 5.077km long and has 17 turns, was roundly praised by riders after its first Grand Prix in 2010, and it was rewarded with the IRTA Best Grand Prix of the Year award, the first time a circuit had received the prize in its debut year.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 9th
“We certainly wanted the result to be another. It was a difficult race in which we thought we could do better. In three turns of the circuit my feeling was getting worse but, in any case, we are happy for the seven points taken and for the ninth position in the standings. Now let’s think about the next race, it will be the first time in Thailand and we want a good result at all costs!”

DANNY KENT#52 – DNF

I’m sorry for today’s race, and I’m very sorry for my team once again because we deserve better. We started the race pretty well, recovering 3 positions at the start, but after a few laps something changed and I no longer had the feeling I had before. I tried to push to not lose the group in front of me but I lost control of the bike”.

Fabio Quartararo and Danny Kent respectively got the seventh and twenty-third time of the session, grabbing the third and eighth row in tomorrow’s starting grid.

A bittersweet qualifying session for Quartararo who was stopped by the traffic on track during a lap that could have been worth the first row of the grid. However, Fabio has proven to have a competitive race pace and he is ready to fight.

Kent ended the Fp3 with the fifteenth time obtained at the end of the session. After a change to the front of the bike, the Englishman manages to improve his lap time by a second and a half. Unfortunately, in qualifying he couldn’t repeat the lap time he got in the morning session because he had a worse feeling due to the loss of grip.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 7th in 1’53.466
“It was a hard but positive day. We had problems accelerating but nothing impossible to solve. We have to give the best of us tomorrow from the start to stay with the leading group from the first lap. We have a good rhythm to compete, we’ll give it our all!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 23rd in 1’54.524

Not happy with the qualifying position, unfortunately in the final exit with new tyres I had problem with my front disc brakes so I was not able to improve as much as I wanted from the first exit. Tomorrow’s a new day and we will see what we can do”.

FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE AT THE GRAN PREMIO MOVISTAR DE ARAGÓN: 5th QUARTARARO AND 24th KENT

The grip on the track has decreased and for the British rider it was difficult to improve the lap time obtained in the morning session, and so he got the twenty-fourth place of the first day of the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 5th in 1’53.915
“A quite positive day. In FP1 we scored the fourth time with a good pace even if we could do better towards the end of the session. In the afternoon we tried some changes and with some we were satisfied with others less. I have some problems with the rear when I brake but we will solve it in the last practice session. However, I am happy with the results obtained so far and I am ready for tomorrow!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 24th in 1’54.799

I am not happy with today. In Fp1 it wasn’t so bad, the position wasn’t good but I was only 0.5 from top 10 which isn’t so bad. In Fp2 we tried different tyre and the feeling wasn’t very good. We will try to improve tomorrow”.

+EGO SPEED UP RACING TEAM: QUALIFYING

QUARTARARO FINISHED THE RACE IN SEVENTH POSITION, WHILE DANNY KENT CRASHED OUT DURING SECOND LAP

The +EGO Speed Up Racing team once again in the points with Fabio Quartararo who cross the finish line of the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit in seventh position.

It was not a perfect start for Fabio who lost some positions and from the fourth grid position he was eighth at the end of the first lap. It was a tight-knit race by the number 20 of the +EGO Speed Up Racing team, fighting from the first to the last lap to gain ground without giving up even though problems in acceleration hampered its position recovering.

After a good start in which Danny Kent was able to immediately recover 5 positions, he unfortunately crashed out during the second lap at the number 4 curve.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 7th

“A difficult race because we wanted to do better than obtained. I had problems in acceleration because in the first sector where there are a lot of turns I was strong, but once in the straight line I was losing a lot compared to the other riders. We absolutely have to solve these problems as soon as we get to the Motorland of Aragon for the next Grand Prix!”

DANNY KENT#52 – DNF

“I’m really disappointed with how the weekend went. After the fall in yesterday’s qualifying, everything went wrong. Certainly today’s race was anything but easy, but at least we hoped to be able to fight for the points. After the warm up lap I had already realized that something was wrong and in fact after a few corners I crashed out because of problems at the front of the Speed Up bike. I’m really sorry, especially for my team”.

The number 20 of the +EGO Speed Up Racing team GOT the fourth time of the Moto2 qualifying, hold today at the Marco Simoncelli Circuit in Misano Adriatico on a sunny and warm day.

In qualifying Fabio started immediately well scoring his best lap at the beginning of the session and thus grabbing the second row of the starting grid.

For Danny Kent, on the other hand, it is a really difficult qualifying to accept. Tomorrow he will start from the eleventh row in thirty-first position.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 14th in 1’37.540

DANNY KENT#52 – 31st in 1’39.683
“Disappointed obviously with how the qualifying planned out. Unfortunately crashed out on the first lap which meant I was only able to do a few laps. Tomorrow’ is a different day, sorry to my team for the crash”.

+EGO SPEED UP RACING TEAM: FIRST DAY OF FREE PRACTICE AT THE GRAN PREMIO DI SAN MARINO E DELLA RIVIERA DI RIMINI

At Marco Simoncelli Misano circuit the thirteenth round of the season of the 2018 Moto2 World Championship has started today. The +EGO Speed Up Racing team’s riders ended the first day in seventeenth (Quartararo #20) and twenty-sixth (Danny Kent#52) position of the combined free practice times.

Both riders and their respective teams have dedicated the two free practice sessions to the set-up of the bike, trying different solutions to improve the feeling.

Fabio Quartararo, after several solutions tested during the two sessions, he managed to find a good set-up for the bike at the end of FP2. The used tires do not allow Fabio to get a good fast lap, but tomorrow in Fp3 they will have the time to lower the lap time with new tires.

On the other side of the box, in the afternoon session Danny Kent solved the problems with the front, especially in turning, and managed to improve the lap time by more than a second.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 17th in 1’38.556

A day a bit ‘complicated. At the end of the second session we finally managed to improve the feeling with the bike but the tires were very used. The change was scheduled, but I received the signal too late and so I could not ride with new tire. We postpone the work until tomorrow, see what we can do!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 26th in 1’39.257
“A difficult first day here in Misano. I did not have a good feeling with the front in Fp1, especially when I had to turn, also the cold and the sore throat do not help me. In Fp2 I went much better, we made some changes that have definitely reduced the problems with the front but we still have a lot of work to do”.
