Last weekend the fifth round of the ELF CIV pre-moto3 250 4T Championship took place at the Mugello International Circuit.
It was a complicated weekend for the JCR Team and its rider Collin Veijer. Technical problems, mostly mechanical, put a strain on staff and Veijer, who was stuck in the garage for most of the test on Thursday and the Friday session. During the two qualifying sessions, the enthusiasm and tenacity of Collin showed all his talent when taking the second place in the qualifying combined ranking.
Despite the few laps on the track during the pre-race days, Veijer finished Race1 in fourth position replicating the result in Race2 by crossing the finish line in fourth position just 0.182 tenths from the first.
The next round of the ELF CIV pre-moto3 250 4T championship will take place at the Autodromo Vallelunga, 5th– 7th October.
Collin Vejier#95: “For me it was a difficult weekend sadly with mechanical problems. Despite the short time on track, I managed to ride two good qualifying sessions. I am eventually satisfied with both races where, once again, we deserved valuable points. I would like to thank my team for not giving up even if the problems had put a strain on us. Many thanks to the sponsors who make this possible for me”.

QUARTARARO PLACED NINTH IN THE GRAN PREMIO DE ARAGÓN. KENT CRASHED OUT IN LAP 4.
MB-Conveyors-Speed Up Racing team finished in the points the Gran Premio de Aragón with Fabio Quartararo, who crossed the finish line in ninth position after 21 race laps. Starting from the first position of the third row, Quartararo immediately found a good rhythm that allows him to fight for the whole race for the top ten. Once again the young talent showed his tenacity by grabbing the ninth position in a very hard race. Teammate Danny Kent had another complicated race crashing out in turn sixth of the fourth lap.
After a good start, twentieth at the end of the first lap, Kent lost control of his Speed Up due to problems at the front and so crashed out finishing his race. Kent made a good start, twentieth at the end of the first lap, but which loses control of his Speed Up and ends up on the ground finishing his race. The next round of the Moto2 will be in two weeks at the Buriram circuit for the Thailand Grand Prix 5th-7th October.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 9th
“We certainly wanted the result to be another. It was a difficult race in which we thought we could do better. In three turns of the circuit my feeling was getting worse but, in any case, we are happy for the seven points taken and for the ninth position in the standings. Now let’s think about the next race, it will be the first time in Thailand and we want a good result at all costs!”
DANNY KENT#52 – DNF
“I’m sorry for today’s race, and I’m very sorry for my team once again because we deserve better. We started the race pretty well, recovering 3 positions at the start, but after a few laps something changed and I no longer had the feeling I had before. I tried to push to not lose the group in front of me but I lost control of the bike”.

THIRD ROW FOR FABIO QUARTARARO, SEVENTH IN QUALIFYING AT THE MOTORLAND ARAGÓN CIRCUIT. DANNY KENT, TWENTY-THIRD, WILL START FROM THE EIGHTH ROW.
On the second day of the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón, the MB Conveyors-Speed Up Racing Team’s riders completed the qualifying session which determined the starting grid for tomorrow’s race. Fabio Quartararo and Danny Kent respectively got the seventh and twenty-third time of the session, grabbing the third and eighth row in tomorrow’s starting grid.
A bittersweet qualifying session for Quartararo who was stopped by the traffic on track during a lap that could have been worth the first row of the grid. However, Fabio has proven to have a competitive race pace and he is ready to fight.
Kent ended the Fp3 with the fifteenth time obtained at the end of the session. After a change to the front of the bike, the Englishman manages to improve his lap time by a second and a half. Unfortunately, in qualifying he couldn’t repeat the lap time he got in the morning session because he had a worse feeling due to the loss of grip.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 7th in 1’53.466
“It was a hard but positive day. We had problems accelerating but nothing impossible to solve. We have to give the best of us tomorrow from the start to stay with the leading group from the first lap. We have a good rhythm to compete, we’ll give it our all!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 23rd in 1’54.524
“Not happy with the qualifying position, unfortunately in the final exit with new tyres I had problem with my front disc brakes so I was not able to improve as much as I wanted from the first exit. Tomorrow’s a new day and we will see what we can do”.

FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE AT THE GRAN PREMIO MOVISTAR DE ARAGÓN: 5th QUARTARARO AND 24th KENT
At the end of the first day of practice of the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón, the two MB Conveyors-Speed Up Racing team’s riders, Fabio Quartararo and Danny Kent, respectively placed fifth and twenty-fourth in the combined ranking of the two free practice sessions.
The number 20 of the team found a good feeling with his Speed Up SF18 since the morning laps, and it is precisely on the fourth lap of the first session that he marked his best time of the day in 1’53.915 with which he got the fifth place of the Moto2 combined ranking.
At the end of the first practice session, Danny Kent got a good lap in 1’54.799 finishing the round five tenths from top ten. In the afternoon the temperatures rose and the asphalt was very warmer, reaching 45 degrees. The grip on the track has decreased and for the British rider it was difficult to improve the lap time obtained in the morning session, and so he got the twenty-fourth place of the first day of the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 5th in 1’53.915
“A quite positive day. In FP1 we scored the fourth time with a good pace even if we could do better towards the end of the session. In the afternoon we tried some changes and with some we were satisfied with others less. I have some problems with the rear when I brake but we will solve it in the last practice session. However, I am happy with the results obtained so far and I am ready for tomorrow!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 24th in 1’54.799
“I am not happy with today. In Fp1 it wasn’t so bad, the position wasn’t good but I was only 0.5 from top 10 which isn’t so bad. In Fp2 we tried different tyre and the feeling wasn’t very good. We will try to improve tomorrow”.

+EGO SPEED UP RACING TEAM: QUALIFYING
QUARTARARO FINISHED THE RACE IN SEVENTH POSITION, WHILE DANNY KENT CRASHED OUT DURING SECOND LAP
The +EGO Speed Up Racing team once again in the points with Fabio Quartararo who cross the finish line of the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit in seventh position.
It was not a perfect start for Fabio who lost some positions and from the fourth grid position he was eighth at the end of the first lap. It was a tight-knit race by the number 20 of the +EGO Speed Up Racing team, fighting from the first to the last lap to gain ground without giving up even though problems in acceleration hampered its position recovering.
After a good start in which Danny Kent was able to immediately recover 5 positions, he unfortunately crashed out during the second lap at the number 4 curve.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 7th
“A difficult race because we wanted to do better than obtained. I had problems in acceleration because in the first sector where there are a lot of turns I was strong, but once in the straight line I was losing a lot compared to the other riders. We absolutely have to solve these problems as soon as we get to the Motorland of Aragon for the next Grand Prix!”
DANNY KENT#52 – DNF
“I’m really disappointed with how the weekend went. After the fall in yesterday’s qualifying, everything went wrong. Certainly today’s race was anything but easy, but at least we hoped to be able to fight for the points. After the warm up lap I had already realized that something was wrong and in fact after a few corners I crashed out because of problems at the front of the Speed Up bike. I’m really sorry, especially for my team”.

+EGO SPEED UP RACING TEAM: QUALIFYING
SECOND ROW FOR QUARTARARO IN THE QUALIFYING OF THE GRAN PREMIO SAN MARINO E DELLA RIVIERA DI RIMINI. KENT UNFORTUNATELY CRASHED OUT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SESSION.
The number 20 of the +EGO Speed Up Racing team GOT the fourth time of the Moto2 qualifying, hold today at the Marco Simoncelli Circuit in Misano Adriatico on a sunny and warm day.
Quartararo already in the last free practice of the morning showed that something had changed from the Friday’s sessions and in fact he finished the Fp3 in the top ten with the ninth time and a gap of only 0.490 tenths from the first. In qualifying Fabio started immediately well scoring his best lap at the beginning of the session and thus grabbing the second row of the starting grid.
For Danny Kent, on the other hand, it is a really difficult qualifying to accept. The +EGO Speed Up Racing team’s English rider, after a clear improvement in FP3, crashed out in the first lap of the qualifying losing the opportunity to improve his lap. Tomorrow he will start from the eleventh row in thirty-first position.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 14th in 1’37.540
“A positive day compared to yesterday that we had made the seventeenth time. We have a good pace and even if we have to improve some things for tomorrow, I am sure we can be really competitive. Now we have to stay focused on the race and make a good start!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 31st in 1’39.683
“Disappointed obviously with how the qualifying planned out. Unfortunately crashed out on the first lap which meant I was only able to do a few laps. Tomorrow’ is a different day, sorry to my team for the crash”.

+EGO SPEED UP RACING TEAM: FIRST DAY OF FREE PRACTICE AT THE GRAN PREMIO DI SAN MARINO E DELLA RIVIERA DI RIMINI
At Marco Simoncelli Misano circuit the thirteenth round of the season of the 2018 Moto2 World Championship has started today. The +EGO Speed Up Racing team’s riders ended the first day in seventeenth (Quartararo #20) and twenty-sixth (Danny Kent#52) position of the combined free practice times.
Both riders and their respective teams have dedicated the two free practice sessions to the set-up of the bike, trying different solutions to improve the feeling.
Fabio Quartararo, after several solutions tested during the two sessions, he managed to find a good set-up for the bike at the end of FP2. The used tires do not allow Fabio to get a good fast lap, but tomorrow in Fp3 they will have the time to lower the lap time with new tires.
On the other side of the box, in the afternoon session Danny Kent solved the problems with the front, especially in turning, and managed to improve the lap time by more than a second.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 17th in 1’38.556
“A day a bit ‘complicated. At the end of the second session we finally managed to improve the feeling with the bike but the tires were very used. The change was scheduled, but I received the signal too late and so I could not ride with new tire. We postpone the work until tomorrow, see what we can do!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 26th in 1’39.257
“A difficult first day here in Misano. I did not have a good feeling with the front in Fp1, especially when I had to turn, also the cold and the sore throat do not help me. In Fp2 I went much better, we made some changes that have definitely reduced the problems with the front but we still have a lot of work to do”.
