+EGO SPEED UP RACING TEAM: QUALIFYING

SECOND ROW FOR QUARTARARO AND NINTH FOR KENT IN THE SILVERSTONE QUALIFYING

The two +EGO Speed Up Racing team riders, Fabio Quartararo and Danny Kent, got sixth and twenty-sixth respectively in qualifying today. In tomorrow’s race, which will exceptionally start at 15.30 Italy time zone, the team riders will start from the second and ninth row of the starting grid.

The track conditions were uncertain for up to ten minutes from the end of the session when the track was almost completely dry. Quartararo and his staff took full advantage of the Fp3 by trying different tyre solutions. In qualifying they hit the target and on the last lap they reached the sixth place in the qualifying and so the second row.

Complicated weekend instead for Danny Kent, who in his home Grand Prix cannot find a suitable set up and then improve the feeling with his bike. According to the weather forecast, tomorrow’s race will be wet and the track conditions could thus completely change the cards on the cards.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 6th in 2’08.756

Definitely positive day. This morning we had a very good rhythm with the dry track and the feeling was better than the previous free practice sessions. In the afternoon, although I did not like the track conditions at all, I concentrated on the fastest lap and on the last lap of the QP I was able to grab the sixth position on tomorrow grid. We are ready to fight!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 26th in 2’10.285
“Not happy with how the weekend has gone so far, again I don’t have a good feeling with the bike so I can’t show my full potential. Tomorrow looks like it’s going to be wet which might help us out a little”.

+EGO SPEED UP RACING TEAM: PRACTICE

QUARTARARO SIXTH AND KENT TWENTY-FIRST IN THE FIRST DAY OF THE BRITISH GP

+EGO Speed Up Racing team’s riders have just finished the first day of free practice at Silverstone circuit. As forecasted, the practice session in the afternoon was influenced by the rain that forced riders and team to change settings for the Speed Up SF18.

Quartararo concluded the Fp1 with a good sixth time improving the setting and the feeling during the session. The number 20 of the team rode well even with the wet during the Fp2 and ended the free practice session in fourth position but with a lap time obviously higher than the morning’s one.

Teammate Danny Kent got the twenty-first position. The English rider found rear spin problems in acceleration and the afternoon rain prevented the rider and team from trying the decisive solution at the end of Fp1 postponing the change to tomorrow Fp3.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 6th in 2’09.100

We started the weekend here at Silverstone well. This morning we made the sixth time despite the crash and in the afternoon, although the rain started to fall one lap from the beginning of the race, we managed to find a good setting even in the wet. The race will most likely be wet, we continue to work so that we are in the right direction!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 21st in 2’10.807
“Difficult first day here at Silverstone. I didn’t have a good feeling in Fp1, I have too much rear spin. We made a change for Fp2 but unfortunately after 1 lap we had big downpour of rain, have to wait and see what the weather will bring for tomorrow”.

AUSTRIAN GP

12th August 2018

+EGO-SPEED UP RACING TEAM’S RIDERS BOTH IN THE POINTS IN THE AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX

Today’s race at the RedBull Ring had a bitter sweet taste for the number 20 of the +EGO-Speed Up Racing Team. Unfortunately, a mistake at the first corner of the first lap, just after the start, made useless the first hard-earned row reached during yesterday’s qualifying. He finished the first lap in twenty-second position and from there began his incredible climb finishing the race in ninth position.

Good performance of Danny Kent who started well recovering three positions at the start. Throughout the race, the British rider was able to recover two more positions and then he maintained a steady pace closing the Austrian Grand Prix in twelfth position.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 9th

It was a difficult race because after the contact at the first corner I finished in twenty-fifth position and from there I had to give 100% to recover as many positions as possible. Too bad because we could have fought for the first 5 positions. I’m still happy with the ninth place reached, I thank my team for always being by my side!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 12th

“I am happy with the race I made today. I had a few problems on 2 corners which is where I lost most of my time compared to the others, but anyway I was able to make consistent laps and finish in the points. I hope to continue in this way at home Grand Prix in Silverstone, thanks to my team!”

+EGO-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: QUALIFYING

FIRST ROW START FOR FABIO QUARTARARO AT AUSTRIAN GP

After the light rain in the morning that never stopped from yesterday’s FP2, the afternoon sun has instead guaranteed dry qualifyingn for the Moto2 riders here at the Red Bull Ring.

The +EGO-Speed Up Racing Team will start tomorrow from the front row with Fabio Quartararo who got the third best time in 1’29.930 and the sixth with Danny Kent who qualified seventeenth.

The young Quartararo, thanks to his constant dedication and work with the team, was able to find the right setting for dry qualifying after two free practice sessions carried out in the wet.

Box teammate, Danny Kent, missed the fastest lap but reduced his lap time by almost a second and improved the feeling with his Speed Up SF18 bike in both track conditions.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 3rd in 1’29.930

It was a pretty positive day. This morning with the wet track and the light rain we were sixth, and today with totally dry track third. We had a small electronic problem at the end of the qualifying, the bike turned off at 2 laps from the end. Anyway, we were able to find the fast lap and we are confident in the race pace we have. We will fight to get the top 5 tomorrow!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 17th in 1’30.401
“I am not overly happy with my starting grid, but anyway I have a good feeling with the bike. I did a lot of laps so I could understand the bike a bit more. Important to get a good start tomorrow and I will be pushing 110% to have a good result!”.

+EGO-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: PRACTICE

THE SPEED UP SF18 BIKE IN FIFTH POSITION WITH FABIO QUARTARARO

The Austrian weekend started today on the Red Bull Ring and, as expected, the rain arrived in the afternoon forcing teams and riders to completely change the settings of the bikes tested in the morning FP1.

Quartararo reached the fifth position during the dry session of the morning. He was not only able to score an excellent time, he also shew a constant and competitive race pace. In the afternoon the FP2 were characterized by a very strong rain which significantly changed the riding conditions of the riders. The number 20 of the +EGO-Speed Up Racing Team managed to find the right feeling with his team also in the wet.

Danny Kent had some chatter during the first session, and although in the standings it turned out to be nineteenth, the gap from the first one is only 0.6 tenths. The second session were scheduled to solve the morning’s chatter, but the rain forced rider and team to change programs.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 5th in 1’30.568

I am very happy with the work done in these two sessions. In FP1 we worked well with the soft tyre, we are less than two tenths from the first. We also reached a good feeling in the wet in the second free practice session. The rain fell at times very strong, reducing visibility on the track. I am satisfied for now, we must continue like this tomorrow!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 19th in 1’31.080
“Not a great day today. In FP1 I had some chatter in some corners but we have looked at the data and we know the problem. Unfortunately, for FP2 it was raining so we weren’t able to see if we had fixed the problem. Tomorrow is a different day and we have to wait and see what the weather will be”.

QUARTARARO AT ONE STEP AWAY FROM THE TOP TEN, WHILE DANNY KENT CRASHES AT LAP TWELFTH

Boost-Speed Up Racing team ended the Czech Republic Grand Prix once again with points with Fabio Quartararo who finishes the race in eleventh position. Weekend complicated for Danny Kent, who after recovering eight positions thanks to an excellent start, crashed down in lap twelfth losing control of the front of his Speed Up SF18.

Quartararo started well recovering a position immediately. Braking problems compicated his race from the start but with tenacity the number 20 of the team fought for the top ten until the end crossing the finish line eleventh.

No stop for the Moto2 that will go back to the track next weekend at the RedBull Ring (10th-12th August).

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 11th

A difficult day today, we hoped to finish the qualifying at least in the first 10. Tomorrow morning during the warm up we will try some changes to the setting to improve the feeling with the bike. We will work above all on the gearing. If we find the problem and solve it we can have a good race!”

DANNY KENT#52 – DNF
“I’am disappointed with another crash, I made a good start and first laps to gain 8 positions from my qualifying position. All weekend I have had a bad feeling with the front of the bike and again in the race I lost the fro nt end. We have to keep our hopes up and keep working hard to achieve better results”.

Danny Kent struggled with the team to find the right setting of the bike, but remains confident in the warm up to find the race solution.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 14th in 2’02.760

A difficult day today, we hoped to finish the qualifying at least in the first 10. Tomorrow morning during the warm up we will try some changes to the setting to improve the feeling with the bike. We will work above all on the gearing. If we find the problem and solve it we can have a good race!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 24th in 2’03.548
“Again I’m disappointed with today, starting p24 is not where I want to be. After Sachsenring I was confident of coming here and doing a good job, but I had no confidence in the front all weekend. Still tomorrow is race day so there is time to turn things around”.

QUARTARARO TAKES FIFTH PLACE IN THE FIRST DAY OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC GRAND PRIX

After the short summer break the tenth round of the Moto2 season is back today on track on the scorching Brno circuit.

Fabio Quartararo, after the good performance obtained at the German Grand Prix although the crash during the warm up had complicated his exit in the race, ended the first day of free practice sessions scoring an excellent fifth time just 0.383 from the first.
Teammate Danny Kent started the day determined to continue the good work done during the German weekend. The British rider took advantage of the first two sessions of the weekend, trying out new setting solutions without obtaining the results they expected. He managed to reduce the gap and improve the FP1 lap time by more than a second, but there is still work to be done before tomorrow’s qualifying.

FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 5th in 2’03.501

It was a hard but positive day. We used the hard tyre in both FP1 and FP2 and we passed to the soft only in the last laps of the second session, finding an incredible improvement of the feeling. After this change I found myself much better on the track, lowering the lap a lot. I thank very much the team, let’s continue like this!”

DANNY KENT#52 – 23th in 2’04.342
“Difficult first day here in Brno. Normally it’s a track that I really enjoy but today I didn’t have a good feeling with the bike. We have a plan for tomorrow so I hope I can find a better feeling and perform better!”
