The Circuit Of The Americas is the first purpose-built Grand Prix facility in the U.S. near Austin, Texas, with a 5.513km track and a capacity for 120,000 fans. Construction of the impressive 1000-acre facility was completed late in 2012, with MotoGP lining up at the track for the first time in 2013.
One of its more distinctive features is near 41m-elevation change with an impressive incline at the end of the home-straight followed by a sharp left. The circuit is one of the most varied on the GP circuit, with a mix of fast straights and tight hairpins, with most sections mirroring at least some part of a famous track around the world.
It was designed by well-known German architect and circuit designer Hermann Tilke. The driving direction is counter clockwise and has a total of 20 corners with 9 right turns and 11 left turns.

Moto2- MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: FIFTEENTH PLACE FOR FABIO QUARTARARO AT THE CIRCUIT OF AMERICAS, WHILE DANNY KENT CRASHES DURING LAP 4
The MB Conveyors-Speed Up Team ended the Texan weekend once again in the points but this time with Fabio Quartararo, who brought his Speed Up SF18 to the fifteenth place. Unfortunately, Danny Kent’s race ended during lap 4 due to a crash in which, fortunately, the English rider was not injured.
The number #20 of the Speed Up box, Fabio Quartararo, started the race well after a good start from the third row and the three positions recovered in the first laps. Driving problems and lack of speed slowed down the French rider, but despite this he is aware of the good work done with the team over the weekend and the progress achieved.
Moto2 returns to race at the warm circuit of Jerez de la Frontera circuit from 4th to 6th May.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 15th
“A positive but difficult race! We did very well the first laps but suffering too much at T2 and T3. We have to work a lot on speed and for sure we can do better. I’m happy to have taken a step forward compared to the first two races of the championship, we have to continue in this way“.
DANNY KENT#52 – Crashed out
“Very difficult weekend for me and the team here in Austin. The race I made a good start and made my way up to position 16 on the first lap but after the back straight 1 rider hit me wide and I hit the kerb. After that I had some vibration through the fast corners and unfortunately I crashed. Sorry to my team, we will keep working hard for Jerez to get back to where me and the team belong, closer to the front!”

Moto2- MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: FABIO QUARTARARO CLOSES IN TOP TEN THE QP OF THE GRAND PRIX OF THE AMERICAS
MB Conveyors-Speed Up Racing Team riders Fabio Quartararo and Danny Kent completed their qualifying session respectively in ninth and twenty-second position and they will start tomorrow from the third and eighth row.
In this decisive session that determines the starting order, the young French rider had progressed into the QP with an impressive lap of 2’11.282 signed at the end of the session.
On the other side of the box, it was more than an uphill battle for teammate Danny Kent who, although making improvements, struggled a lot to find the single qualifying lap. He was able to lower his lap time, but he still has work to do in tomorrow’s warm up with his crew to get more confident with the Speed Up bike.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 9th in 2’11.282
“It was a positive qualifying because we were able to find valid solutions to set-up problems greatly improving the bike. It is our first top ten qualification and we are enthusiastic about it. In the warm up tomorrow we will try something different to understand if we can get a better feeling than we have, but in any case, we will start from a good base. We are more than determined for tomorrow’s race!”
DANNY KENT#52 – 22nd in 2’11.905
“Again today was a difficult one for me and the team. For some reason we are struggling a lot here with the bumps. In the end of the qualifying we made a change which I finally felt was better in some places, but in the warm up we will make some more changes to try and improve even more. Sorry to my team for bad result, but I will keep pushing 100% to improve!”

Moto2- MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: FIRST FREE PRACTICE SESSIONS OF THE GRAND PRIX OF THE AMERICAS
The round 3 to be held this weekend at the modern Circuit of the Americas near Austin (Texas) has started. During the two free practice sessions, both riders of the MB Conveyors-Speed Up Racing team focused on a track that is always complicated to interpret for the many slow and short-range corners. Fabio Quartararo and Danny Kent had therefore worked on the set-up of the bike towards the race, closing the day respectively in seventeenth and twenty-second position. The two riders have both improved their lap times in the second session and they are ready to fight in tomorrow’s free practice to find the best setting to find the right feeling for the race.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 17° in 2’11.959
“It was a rather difficult but positive day because in FP2 we did the first the second and the fourth sector well, almost like the first in the group. We know we have to work hard in the third sector, therefore perfecting the bike and my driving. Tomorrow’s FP3 will therefore be fundamental to improve”.
DANNY KENT#52 – 22° in 2’12.745
“Difficult first day for us in Austin today, I don’t have a great feeling with the bike. We will look at the data to see what we can do to improve. Fingers crossed tomorrow is dry so we can continue trying to improve the set up”.

COLLIN VEIJER DEBUTS IN THE FIRST ELFCIV WEEKEND AT MISANO WORLD CIRCUIT MARCO SIMONCELLI
First race of the ElfCIV premoto3 2018 championship.
The first race of the Italian Speed Championship ElfCIV category premoto3 took place last weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
Unstable weather conditions affect the free practice of the weekend and force riders to skip the last practice session of the first day.
Collin Veijer finished the qualifying by bringing his Speed Up to the fourteenth place on the grid from which he started very well in Race1, recovering ten positions. The Dutch rider thus crossed the finish line among the first, signing an excellent fourth place as a rookie in this category.
In race2 Collin was more cautious at the green light, but after the first lap he began to lower the chrono by scoring the best lap time of the fourth lap of the race at 1’51.02. Unfortunately, due to a crash, he did not finish race2.
Collin Veijer#95: “The weekend was difficult for me. With 2 highsiders it was difficult to improve the set-up of the bike during the practice sessions. In Race1 I did not know exactly what I could expect from the bike set-up but during the race I except it and fight with this situation reaching the 4th position. In race2 the team changed the set-up and I had a better feeling with the Speed Up bike. But, unfortunately, in lap 3 when I was working with the front I made a mistake with shifting back the gear and so I lost the rear and that made me crash. I want to thank the team for the hard work they do for me. Also a big thank to the sponsors that make this possible”.

Moto2-GRAN PREMIO MOTUL DE LA REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA: MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM CONCLUDES THE RACE INSIDE THE POINTS WITH DANNY KENT
MB Conveyors-Speed Up Racing team concludes the Grand Prix Motul de la República Argentina inside the points with Danny Kent, who finishes twelfth at the finish line after 23 laps.
The conditions of the track are not optimal and the riders have to deal with a wet but very fast drying track.
Starting from the third position of the first row, the English rider Danny Kent finds himself having to fight from the first lap of the race after an unfavourable start.
Difficult race also for teammate Fabio Quartararo, who struggles to find the feeling with the Speed Up SF18 for the entire weekend. He finishes the race in twenty-second position, recovering six places.
Moto2 will be back on track in Austin, Texas, in two weeks, from 20th to 22nd April.
DANNY KENT#52 – 12th
“Of course, I am little disappointed with today result. I really feel the potential is much better; as you can see I set the 6th fastest lap time, but right now we are having some problems on the straight that I hope on the next races we can improve. I have a great feeling with the bike in the corners, I am just not able to pass on the straight. Either way our potential is better. The team have done a great job this weekend and I feel that we are step by step getting closer. I will keep working hard on myself to improve for the next race”.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 22nd
“It was a very difficult and tricky weekend. During the race I managed to recover some positions but it is obvious that starting from the twenty-eighth position is never easy. I know we can and must still improve a lot. The work will continue in the next two weeks in which we will analyse the data collected this weekend to shed light on the problems to be solved before the next race in Texas. Thanks to the team for working hard with me”.

Moto2- MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: QUALIFYING
DANNY KENT SCORES SUPERB THIRD PLACE IN HIS FINAL LAP
A very cloudy sky welcomed the Moto2 riders this morning at the Termas de Río Hondo circuit and the rain then began to descend on the Argentine track, conditioning the morning session and the qualifying in the afternoon. The rain that went down sometimes made the track neither too wet nor too dry, raising the difficulty level of the session. The two riders worked with their crews during the qualifying to find the set-up suitable for the track conditions and it was in the last minutes of the session that Danny Kent snatched an amazing third place during the last lap of the qualifying and tomorrow he will start from the first row of the grid.
Fabio Quartararo ended the qualifying in the twenty-eighth place, struggling some issues with the rear. The rain has not facilitated the driving conditions, but waiting and hoping for a dry race, the young Frenchman maintains his enthusiasm and is ready to fight.
DANNY KENT#52 – 3rd in 1’56.536
“I am very happy with my first front row start in the Moto2 class and I am happy to do it with the MB Conveyors-Speed Up Racing Team. I already knew from FP3 I had a good feeling in the rain but I just needed a few things changing with the bike. My crew did a great job and gave me a great bike for qualifying. Now we have to wait and see what the weather will be for tomorrow, but either way I am happy and very motivated for tomorrow!”
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 28th in 2’00.295
“It was a really complicated day, I’m really sorry for the grid position. We are working hard to try to understand where we are wrong and focus on the points where we have to work harder. Tomorrow’s warm-up will be essential to improve towards the race”.

Moto2- MB CONVEYORS-SPEED UP RACING TEAM: FIRST FREE PRACTICE SESSIONS OF THE GRAND PRIX OF ARGENTINA
Danny Kent rides his Speed Up SF18 bike to the seventh place
As was widely expected, the first Moto2 free practice day on the Argentina Termas de Rio Hondo circuit was characterized by the variable weather that made the track conditions constantly changing, forcing riders and team to quickly change the setting of the bikes.
Good feeling for Danny Kent during FP1 in which marked his best time of the day, seventh in 1’44.940 to less than 5 tenths from the first. On the other side of the box, Fabio Quartararo struggled with his crew during FP1 to find the right setting for the Argentine track. With the solution found together with the team, he was ready for the second free practice session when, after a few laps from the beginning, he was forced to go back to the box due to rain and so postpone it till tomorrow finishing the first day twenty-second.
DANNY KENT#52 – 7th in 1’44.940
“Overall, I am happy with today, to go to the hotel in p6 is not so bad and we still have some work to do to improve like everyone. In FP1 I started with the harder rear tyre and I made some good lap times. Unfortunately, in FP2 we decided to go out at the beginning with a used tyre but then it started raining so we weren’t able to improve. I have a good feeling with the bike but there are a few places we need to improve, also I need to make some laps with the softer number 3 tyre to get a good feeling with this tyre”.
FABIO QUARTARARO#20 – 22nd in 1’46.021
“It was a complicated day because in the first session it was difficult to me to adapt to this track in those conditions. We had a plan to improve in FP2, but as soon as I started riding with a little used tyre, as we had planned, it started to rain and I could not do anything but go back to the pit-box”.
