CORSI NINTH AT GRAN PREMIO MOVISTAR DE ARAGÓN

At Motorland Aragón circuit the Moto2 World Championship race has just finished.  Simone Corsi starts in eleventh position from the fourth row. After a good start, he immediately grabs some positions keeping up the pace. Unfortunately, the lack of grip does not let him to push and get room although the race-pace was enough fast and constant. Simone closes the race ninth getting seven points.

“I am satisfied of today’s race, even if the position is not what I wanted. We fought with Rins and Zarco during all the race, without making mistakes. We could have grab more positions if we would not have had grip problems on the rear. We are getting up again after a difficult August and that is what we wanted!”.

SIMONE ENDS ARAGÓN QUALIFYING ONE STEP AWAY FROM THE TOP 10

Simone Corsi will start tomorrow’s race from the fourth row on a grid position that does not reflect the improvements he made in the free practice sessions of this weekend. In the time attack he did not find the conditions to improve his lap time ending up 11th place in 1,54.075. Tomorrow’s warm-up will be useful for the team to make final adjustment and give the rider any support for the race.imgl8836

“I expected to be more competitive after positive free practice sessions, but what I can expect now is to find more grip from the tyres and so a faster race-pace reaching the first positions since the beginning!”

SIMONE CORSI#24 –

“It has been a very difficult weekend to forget and we must do it very quickly as we need to face the next races in the best conditions. Unfortunately I have had problems with the grip that I couldn’t control during all the weekend. Once on track, I started the race from the sixth row trying to gain positions immediately from the race start. I crashed after just one lap after a contact with some riders of the group where I was. I am very sorry for the team and for all the people that are supporting me”.

Simone Corsi starts the first free practice session immediately giving the impression of being ready and fit. He took a very good sixth time with a gap o three only tenths. In the afternoon Speed Up technicians together with the rider decided to test bike’s setting and wheels with a race simulation. Before tomorrow’s qualifying session, in the last free practice team and rider can still improve the SF16 bike settings.

SIMONE CORSI#24 – in 1’38.393

“Today both free practice sessions went well and I am very happy because Team and I are deserving this. We started the second homeland Grand Prix with two good performances. We preferred to focus the practices on race pace riding many laps with fast pace and the feeling on the bike was really good. If we keep on work as we are doing, I am sure we could reach good results”.

BRITISH GP QUALIFYING SESSION: THIRD ROW FOR CORSI IN TOMORRO’S RACE

IMG_4688The typical British weather never stops, even in the second day here in Silverstone. Teams are working hard to get the perfect setup on a slippery track. Riders had to deal with an intermittent rain which put them to a hard test. Simone Corsi and Speed Up team focused on the third free practice session of this morning to try different set-ups. In qualifying session, although the rain and the crash, Simone reached the ninth position and so the third row of the grid.

SIMONE CORSI #24 – 9th in 2’28.654

“The crash in mid-turn had partly compromised the qualifying session because when I came back on track I had a different feeling with the bike. We are ready for tomorrow, in both weather conditions. We can have a good race!”

NINTH TIME FOR SIMONE CORSI ON THE COMBINED FREE PRACTICE TIMES OF THE OCTO BRITISH GRAND PRIX

The first day of the Silverstone Grand Prix started with rain as the main protagonist, which forced all riders to go back to the pit box in both sessions because of tricky track conditions. When the track looks neither dry nor wet, it becomes unnecessary to ride. Therefore, Simone and Speed Up team had time to analyze all technical information taken during the few laps of the two sessions. As every year at Silvertone GP, weather will be the deciding factor of the racing weekend, so a right bike setting is essential for tomorrow’s qualifying session, hoping for defined weather conditions.

SIMONE CORSI #24

“I have always liked this original and fast track. Today the irregular rain forced us to stopped after few laps in both practices. The feeling with the bike is not bad, mostly with the adjustment of the rear. In tomorrow’s last free practice session we will try to get a good setting for brilliant qualifying session”.
