NO POINTS FOR CORSI AT GOPro MOTORRAD GRAND PRIX DEUTSCHLAND
After this morning’s rain, moto2 riders had to face with a treacherous and wet track that has influenced all the racing weekend. Too bad for Simone and team Speed Up that were expecting much more from this race after yesterday’s results. The rider started the competition from the second row in fourth position. He was maintaining the pace with the leading group, when a crash at lap 6 meant the end of his challenge. Like Simone, so many other riders were not able to close the race because of track conditions. Now a short break before next GP at the new Austrian Red Bull Ring circuit.
“I am very upset because we started the weekend in a good way, team and I felt competitive and feisty. On track we were all on edge and who made even a little mistake did not arrive at the finish line. I am sorry to have wasted an important opportunity!”
GOOD QUALIFYING SESSION AT GOPro MOTORRAD GRAND PRIX DEUTSCHLAND: SECOND ROW FOR CORSI
Speed Up Moto2 rider Simone Corsi finished the second day of the racing weekend taking a good time lap 1’24.680 and getting the second row in tomorrow’s race. The day started with better weather conditions than yesterday, mild temperature and sunny sky so riders could reduce lap times also thanks to different track conditions. In the last session of this morning, Simone took third position with a gap of +0.112 seconds from the top. He closed the day with a good fourth fastest time in qualifying session improving again his lap time.
“I am happy with today’s performance. Too bad for that little gap, we could be among the top three. This morning we did a race simulation and the result was positive, we are fast and steady. In tomorrow’s warm up we will try to adjust the rear grip to be faster at the end of the race. We are working well and we are ready to put in a great performance!”
MOTO2 FIRST DAY OF FREE PRACTICE AT SACHSENRING INFLUENCED BY WEATHER CONDITIONS
The German GP has started with an intermittent rain that has continuously changed today’s track conditions. Few laps in both sections could be done by Moto2 riders because of the changing weather. During the free practices Simone Corsi and Speed Up Team have tested the bike setup and two different tyre options, finishing both sessions in seventh position with a gap of few tenths from the first. Simone and his team will now analyze all technical information taken today to keep improving and getting ready for Sunday’s race.
“Today we lost too much time for the various types of weather during the first and the second practice. I am happy for the feeling I have with the Speed Up bike, we are fast. Once solved the little problem of grip with the rear, I am sure we will be more competitive. I have high expectations for this race!”
