GP ASSEN 2016

NINE POINTS FOR CORSI AT THE MOTUL TT ASSEN

The 8th race of the season of the Moto2 class at the Motul TT Assen finished with Simone Corsi that crossed the finish line in seventh position. Uphill race for the rider that had to struggle from the beginning to do not let top riders run away. After several overtaking he starts a battle with Rins, but when it seems determined to continue the ride to the top of the rankings, a heavy rain forced the commission to stop the race 3 laps before the end. Bitter taste in Simone and Speed Up Team’s mouths, but after a hard weekend they are still confident and ready for the next German GP after today brilliant race.

SIMONE CORSI #24 7°
“At the end of this hard weekend we can be satisfied with the result. The grid position did not help us, I think that with a better grid position we could have fight for the podium. I missed some overtaking during the first laps so I lost the possibility to reach the top riders. With the team we did very well solving the problems had in the warm up. Now we have 2 weeks before next race in Germany. I cannot wait for Sachsenring circuit, I feel good with that track!”

The Moto2 qualifyng practice at Gp Motul TT Assen has just ended. The rider couldn’t carry no more than 8 laps, because the official tests were marked by rain. Tomorrow he will start from 16th positions. When Simone Corsi was going to take feeling with the dry track, he had to return to the box for bad weather conditions. In that moment the wet tires were obligatory but the laps times of the first riders were too far away. Then the team considered unnecessary to put rain tires because they couldn’t improve the lap time done with the dry track. Hoping that tomorrow’s weather will be better, team and rider will make their best to be more competitive.

SIMONE CORSI#24
“Today was a little strange day because weather conditions have changed during the qualifyng session. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity to score a good lap time when the track was still almost dry. Then, when it started to rain, it was impossible for me to take a better lap time because of the rain. Tomorrow morning will be very important to find the right setup in the warm up to make a good start. We are all sure we can do a good race”.

SIMONE CORSI#24
“Compared to this morning the feeling with the bike has improved but we are still payng a gap of 7 tenths from the first. We have to keep working with the grip to improve and close the gap from the first, especially the times in T3 and T4 sectors where we are losing more time. The team is working well and we are all confident about the latest practice of tomorrow”.

GP CATALUNYA 2016

DAUNTING RACE FOR SIMONE CORSI AT BARCELONA GP

A black weekend to forget comes to an end for Corsi and Speed Up Team that finished the race after few laps from the start. Simone is ready to snap from the eleventh position to fourth thanks to a very good start, but he is not able to keep the pace of the leading group because of the lack of grip. The third lap is unfortunately marked by an accident with Baldassarri in which Simone after the crash couldn’t rejoin the race. The feeling found during the warm up of this morning leave the team with good feelings for the next race at the old TT circuit of Assen.

SIMONE CORSI#24
“It has been a difficult weekend and not easy to face. I had some problems with the grip that I wasn’t able to control and that penalized me during all the sessions and the race as well. I want to thank my Team that worked very hard trying to solve any problem”.

SIMONE CORSI WILL START FROM THE FOURTH ROW

The Moto2 qualifying session at Montmeló circuit has just ended on a day marked from yesterday’s tragedy. The track looks now different, new changes and new directives have been fixed for riders safety. During the last free practices the team tested different setups, but Simone could not find the right feeling with the bike. In qualifying official session the rider improved his lap time but he could reach just the eleventh position cause of the loss of grip. Tomorrow’s warmup will be the crucial key for a competitive race.

SIMONE CORSI#24
“The last free practice session of this morning was fundamental for me to get in touch with the changed track. We could do a better qualifying session, but the lack of grip did not let me to increase the pace. We still have few time to get ready and be more competitive before the race”.

Simone Corsi takes a lap time of 1’47.311 on Friday free practice session at Gran Premi de Catalunya. The Montmeló racetrack implies a solid effort from all riders to find a good stability during all the weekend. Speed Up Team is working very hard to improve the grip and find the best setup on the SF16 bike. Tomorrow will be fundamental to make a better lap time during the last free session improving the pace to better compete during the qualifying session. Unfortunately, this day was marked by a tragic event that caused the loss of the young rider Luis Salom.

SIMONE CORSI#24
“We have started the racing weekend with the same bike setup of the last races as I felt confident with it. But the racetrack of this circuit is complicated, limited grip and some holes that don’t help riders. So, the team is now working on the bike finding the right setup for tomorrow. I am very sorry for Luis, I cannot find the words to express the void left within each one of us”.
