SIMONE CORSI SCORES TWELFTH PLACE AFTER A UPHILL RACE
Weekend of ups and downs at the Grand Prix of Italy. Simone Corsi takes twelfth place in an unusual race in which riders had to come back to the grid for two times. A procedure that confused different teams and which at the last start forced some riders to start from the last rows. Simone jumped back to twentieth, but seems determined right from the beginning to keep up overtaking and getting closer to the top riders. Once seventh, he had to reduce the pace for a problem with the bike cutting the finish line in twelfth position.
“I am sorry for the confusion during the start of the race. We had a good race pace where I could climb up some positions, but when the rear of the bike started vibrating I couldn’t go as fast as I was going. I am now waiting for the next Gp of Catalunya where we will be more competitive!”
SIMONE CORSI FROM THE THIRD ROW AT ITALIAN HOME GRAND PRIX
The second day of the Italian Grand Prix has just ended. During the last session of free practice Simone improved his lap time closing a good session. In the qualifying of the afternoon, Simone started with a consistent pace reducing again his lap time. Unfortunately, he couldn’t finish the official qualifying session due to a crash. He will then start the race in eighth position from the third row, but the gap from the first positions is very short and the rider is more then determined and excited for the race!
“This morning during the last free practice we tried a race simulation with positive results. Then, during the qualifying session, I did well at the beginning taking a good lap time. In the last minutes I crashed down and I couldn’t come back on track to improve the lap time as the session was almost over. I am very excited for tomorrow’s race!A good start and some overtaking are the key for a succesful race!”
FIRST AND SECOND SESSIONS OF FREE PRACTICE AT THE MUGELLO INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT
The first day of the Italian GP weekend at Mugello circuit has just ended. Simone Corsi clocked a good time of 1’53.745 during the first free practice session, even though the track was not in very good driving conditions for him. On the second round Simone slid and crashed while setting a faster lap (without any physical pain) and so he ended the second free session with a gap of few tenths. In the last official free practice session of tomorrow morning, the team will improve the setup of the bike to get ready for the qualifying session.
“This morning we decided to start later the first practice as the track conditions were not so good. From the beginning we started with a good setting and I was relatively fast, quite comfortably. In the afternoon I pushed too much, where it was not necessary, crashing and compromising the second session. Anyway, we are confident for tomorrow’s qualifying session and we are not afraid of the few tenths which devided us from the best lap scored today. It’s always exciting here at Mugello, I feel at home and I think I have a good chance for a good qualifying session!”
